Although Padrós had no family ties to El Vendrell, his relationship with the writer, Eugeni d’Ors brought him closer to the town. The latter possessed a holiday residence in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the Hermitage of Sant Cristòfol, to which he invited Padrós on several occasions. During his stays, the artist was able to discover the coast between Tarragona and Barcelona, and fell in love with the beauty, peace and serenity of the area. For the artist, the Mediterranean Sea symbolized, order, symmetry, Greco-Latin culture and classicism, in fact the same ideological parameters promulgated by his friend Eugeni d’Ors, father of the Noucentista movement.

By bringing together personalities of art and literature, Padrós converted Coma-ruga into a cultural centre. The German painter, Werner Peiner, professor of monumental painting at the Hermann Göring School for Painting in Kronenburg (1944), spent two summers at Vil.la Neptú (Villa Neptune), in 1957 and 1958. In fact, in 1958 he coincided with Camilo José Cela, one of the most well-known twentieth century Spanish writers.
